Visage is a System 7 utility that makes it easier to select new icons for your disks. While the System 7 Finder allows you to do this, Visage provides an integrated way of adding colorful, new icons to your disks. Please note that Visage requires System 7 or later.
USING VISAGE
Visage is easy to use. Simply open the application, select one or more disks from the Visage window, and click Change Icon. The next dialog allows you to select a new icon for your disks. Select an icon and click OK.
While Visage will immediately display your new icon in its window, you must restart your Mac for the icons to show up in the Finder.
ATTN: ICON ARTISTS!
Visage can use icons from any number of “Visage Icon” files. A Visage Icon file must contain one or more 'ICN#' resources. A Visage Icon file can also contain corresponding 'icl8', 'icl4', 'ics8', 'ics4', and 'ics#' resources.
A Visage Icon file’s type should be 'ICNS' and its creator should be 'VISG'; the file’s name can be anything you want. To use your Visage Icon file, place it in the same folder as the application.
SHAREWARE
Since Visage is shareware, you must pay for the program if you decide to keep it. Visage costs $25 (U.S.); please mail your payment to:
